Handheld mobile devices have become quite commonplace and have developed functionality comparable to lower-end personal computers. However, their small screens and poor user-input capabilities mean that their slow human interaction speed will always be a limiting factor for their practical use. In order to extend their capabilities in this regard, many scientists have suggested that handheld mobile devices must leverage other technologies, particularly larger displays in their environments, in order to survive. By tapping the resources of a larger display through wireless connectivity, a mobile device can extend not only its user interface but also the range of users that can interact with it at once.
